Safety and health issues in focus

Along with Amledo & Co. German and Scottish coaches develop materials that can be used by work place mentors, teachers and learners before / during workplace-based learning. Occupational health and safety was the focus of the meeting in Germany on 8-9 February to increase the quality of vocational education and training. We believe that quality attracts more learners to vocational training. And all this must be seen against the background of the large recruitment needs in the motor industry, says Patrick Ärlemalm, business developer at Amledo & Co. The advice will be made available as a course ware on-line and can be used as a basis for discussion and a starting point for clarifying such important aspects and rules regarding occupational health and safety, says Andreas Jörk, mobility coach at the Crafts Chamber in Gera.

– It is supposed to be a support for the mentors at the companies. We want them and learners to have a starting point to discuss the safety and health issues, says Susan McSeveney, Deputy Head of Construction and Automotive Engineering, West Lothian College.

The work group comprises Amledo & Co, HWK Gera, Germany, and West Lothian College, Scotland. The project runs from 2015 to 2018. Work-based learning in the vehicle industry: 2015-1-SE01-KA202-012241 supported by Erasmus+.
